We challenge you to join for the battle against plastic pollution
Do you know how much plastic is produced globally each year and how much of this ends up as waste? Since inventing plastic, 8.3 milliard tons of plastic has been produced globally and more than half of this, 5.8 milliard tons, ends up as waste, when only 9% is recycled and 12% is burned to energy. What happens to this 79% of plastic that has been produced each year? It ends up in landfills and into our nature. We want to change this but we need your help!
Together we can make a bigger impact and that's why we have joined our forces with Népra to fight against plastic pollution. Népra challenged us to join their annual #nepragoesplogging campaign and we are ready to take up the challenge. Now we call for you - Will you join us for a trash walk or plogging?
What is plogging?
Plogging is a Swedish eco-friendly running trend that became popular all over the world in 2018. The word is a combination of jogging and Swedish "plocka upp" which literally means pick up. And in this case, picking up trash on your run.
Since the outbreak of the global pandemic, more and more people have headed into the wilderness leaving more than their footprint into nature; litter. Everywhere we go, we see disposable face masks, cigarette filters, fast food wrappers - and all kind of plastics that are dangerous for wildlife and harmful for nature.
